Oldsmar, Fla. – (Feb. 14, 2007) – Network Liquidators, an Inc. 500 company and leading source for high-quality pre-owned and refurbished networking equipment, today announced the promotion of Tom Calcaterra to president. Reporting to Network Liquidators Founder and CEO Barry Shevlin, Calcaterra will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, including accounting and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital transactions.
“Tom’s knowledge of and experience with corporate structure, operations, finance and capital markets has enabled us to more effectively manage the dramatic growth our organization has experienced this past year,” said Network Liquidators Founder and CEO Barry Shevlin. “As the quarterback leading our recent acquisition of 1 Nation, Tom was instrumental in the successful completion of that process – and in helping us secure the necessary capital funding for our future growth. His input and leadership throughout this process was invaluable and, now as president, I’m confident he will continue to drive Network Liquidators to even greater achievements.”
Calcaterra brings more than 15 years of international executive-management experience to the position, having served in such previous leadership capacities as corporate officer and director.
Before joining Network Liquidators, Calcaterra served as chief financial officer for PODS Inc. and Romac International Inc. Calcaterra’s primary international experience came with Norsk Hydro ASA, where he was vice president, administration for the company’s North American operations.
A certified public accountant, Calcaterra’s early career experiences include overseas assignments at Touch Ross and Co., and later at Arthur Andersen & Co. Calcaterra earned a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business completing its management program in 1996.
A History of Growth
Growing acceptance – and adoption – of used networking equipment as a fiscally responsible alternative to new technology installations drove Network Liquidators’ revenue to record heights during the past four years. The company’s sales soared nearly 900 percent within this period, making it the third-fastest growing private company in Florida for 2006 and placing it 95th in this year’s Inc. 500 listing of America’s fastest-growing private companies. In response to this remarkable growth and new market opportunities, the company last year added three key executive positions to its roster and broadened its geographic footprint with the opening of a sales office in southern London.
“The Network Liquidators’ leadership team is a strong, talented and experienced group with whom I am proud to work,” said Calcaterra. “Our collective contributions help to synthesize our operations and underscore the value of used networking equipment as a fiscally responsible alternative to new technology installations.”
